Josef Volman is a Manager of Burns & Levinson Canada Co. and a Partner in Burns & Levinson LLP. Mr. Volman is Vice-Chair of the Firm's Business Law Department. He came to Burns & Levinson from the New York firm of Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Sheinfeld, LLP. Mr. Volman represents public and private companies and start-up ventures in general corporate, compliance, and securities matters, and formation and finance issues and transactions.
Mr. Volman has significant expertise in public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and commercial and venture capital financings. He has represented issuers and underwriters in initial and secondary debt and equity offerings, in a variety of industries, of up to $1 billion, and has handled numerous private placements for issuers and placement agents. Mr. Volman has represented targets and acquirers in acquisitions and divestitures of public and private companies. He has also completed venture capital financings for a number of emerging growth companies.
In the area of commercial finance, Mr. Volman has represented lenders and borrowers in various types of transactions. These include multimillion dollar secured, mezzanine, and equipment lease financings.
